[Better collate than never, here is the next section of the Retro Remakes Competition results. The ”A Game for Helen” category links up with the Special Effect project and was created in the hope of creating new games playable by the largest possible number of people, no matter what their mobility, such as the children and young adults in the hospices Helen and Douglas House. Hopefully these games can bring some entertainment to lots of people with a wide range of abilities due to their accessibility.]
So, let’s first have a look at the prize that was available for this part of the competition, and link once more to those lovely lovely sponsors who made the whole thing possible.

So, who out of our eight entrants has created the nicest looking and sounding and most importantly of all fun game that can be played by the widest range of people possible? Let’s get this show on the road and move on to the reviews, listed as always in reverse score order. Congratulations to the winners, and also everyone else who took part, even me, although my game was a bit crap.

7th out of 8 entries. Yay, I’m crap.
[...] This of course includes the reviews for my 24 hour coded entry. They are not for the easily offended as one or two of them may contain naughty words, but you can take a look at them here. [...]
Blimey – I wasn’t expecting that result! But then I couldn’t have got the 2005 one-switch game compo result any more wrong either. Controversial I have to say – but who am I to judge the judges?
Thanks so much to Retro Remakes for supporting the ideals – you’re one of very few at present. Thanks so much to all the programmers past and present who’ve made efforts to get more accessible games out there. It’s massively appreicated and massively needed.
