NORTH, LOOK, GET BRUSH, SOUTH, USE BRUSH ON TOILET, PULL CHAIN…
Ah, I love a bit of Interactive Fiction, me. Actually, that annoys me to the very edge of my wits. When I played ‘The Hobbit’, it was an Adventure, ‘Urban Upstart’, that was an Adventure. Bloody Interactive Fiction!
Castle Adventure. The name says it all. It’s an Adventure and, get this, it’s set in a Castle.
But time moves even the deepest set of anchors and the game that Crozza has remade here isn’t actually a true adventure, more a cross between your texter and your Nethack / ZZT / insert ASCII adventure of choice here.
You move your adventurer around with the cursor keys, collecting objects and attacking beasties by running into them. There is a text box for those who want the thrill of inputting commands and lots of rooms to explore and treasure to find.
This really is Interactive Fiction for lazy people and, you know what, it’s bloody ace. Those who know me well enough to know me well enough will be aware of my slight bias towards the more dungeon crawly style games and this simple pick-it-up-and-run-with-it gem has got it pinned down to perfection.
For those of you that are of a similar persuasion to me and love a bit of text based goodness but can’t be bothered to type, you can’t do much better than grab a dose of Castle Adventure and then let Crozza know his efforts haven’t been wasted (albeit 2 months later than expected) on the forum.

Good game… almost like my xD
